Bernard G. Scollon

Age 86 of Laingsburg passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at Sparrow Health Systems.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Friday January 5, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Dieudonne Ntakarutimana officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Thursday January 4 from 2pm to 8pm with a rosary being prayed at 7pm.

Bernard was born March 23, 1931 in Antrim Township, the son of Edward L. and Elizabeth M. (Stevens) Scollon.

Bernard proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

He married Isabel Edna Scott on October 31, 1964 at St. Paul Catholic Church.

Bernard worked at Universal and Magnetek for 43 years where he worked in Machine Repair. He also farmed from 1954-2012 up to 240 acres of land. Bernard was a lifetime member of the Corunna VFW, a member of the K of C since 1967 and the Farm Bureau.

Bernard is survived by his wife Isabel; his children Cindy (Paul) Williams, Stacey (Alan) Mathews, Dr. Edward (Tanya) Scollon and Erin (Jeff) Wormell; nine grandchildren; brother Lawrence Scollon; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Dr. Edward Scollon, DVM.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul Catholic School or the Corunna VFW Post 4005.
