Dora Elizabeth Dumond

 Age 90 of Henderson, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, May 27, 2018.

 Funeral services will be held 11am Friday, June 1, 2018 at Henderson United Methodist Church with  Dr. Wayne Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes, Owosso Chapel on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm. 

Dora was born October 22, 1927, the daughter of Grover and Jonetta (Thompson) Nethaway. 

She was a graduate of Ovid High School, class of 1946, where she played catcher on the girls softball team. 

Dora was an active member of Henderson United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and Bible school. She was a Cub Scout den mother and a member of Owosso Sports Boosters, March of Dimes, Methodist Women's Society  and served as Treasurer for Rush Township for 20 years. 

Dora married Clyde "Jim" Dumond on September 25, 1948; he predeceased her in 2012 after 64 years of marriage. 

She was a homemaker and spent her life caring for her family as well as working alongside her husband for 15 years at his business, Standard Oil. She loved family events such as Christmas, birthdays, etc. and preparing meals enjoyed around her large dining room table. She was an excellent cook. She had an infectious smile and laugh. She was an encourager and a positive influence to friends and family. She loved her children and grandchildren and they loved her. She was very proud of their accomplishments and loved attending their events. 

Dora is survived by her children Allen (Carol) Dumond, Wayne Dumond, Mary Jo Hasselback and Robert (Teri) Dumond; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings Chris Nethaway and Helen (Nethaway) Mindiola; many other loving family and friends. 

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, siblings Marie, Tom, Chuck and Pat Nethaway, Ann Hartwick and Leila Nelson, infant sister Dorothy, son-in-law Richard Hasselback and granddaughter Shana Dumond. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Henderson United Methodist Church or SLD Scholarship.
