Obituary for Dorothy L. Clark

Age 100 of Chesaning passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at her home.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel with Rev. Dr. David Russell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the service.

Dorothy was born on November 20, 1916 to Earl and Gladys (Curtis) Darling in Fairfield Township, MI. She married Byron Clark on June 20, 1937 in Burton; they celebrated 46 years of marriage before he predeceased her in 1984.

Dorothy spent her life as a loving homemaker. She also worked as an assistant to Dr. Elliot in Ovid and Dr. Henry Forsyth in Chesaning. During her life, she was a Board member at the River Rapids Library, and she enjoyed reading, gardening, and going to her card club. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Above all, Dorothy loved spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Connie (Jim) Harris; her daughter-in-law, Eleanor Parrott; her 5 grandchildren, Sally (Jim) Simons, Steve (Mary) Clark, Jim Harris, Peggy Truman, and Karen (Mitch) Amman; her 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Duane Darling of Owosso, and Ernest Darling of North Carolina; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband, Byron; her son, David Clark; and her siblings, Duard Darling, Ruth Taylor, Ruby Taylor, Erma Kadolph, Ina Horn, and Elwin Darling.
