Douglas Duane Chavora

Age 57 of Owosso passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Nelson-House Funeral Home, Owosso Chapel with Pastor Gerald Switzer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral on Thursday from 6 to 8pm and Friday from 2 to 8pm.

Doug was born July 1, 1960, the son of Kary and Norma (Palmer) Chavora.

He graduated from Owosso High School; Class of 1979.

Doug was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed anything outside including hunting, fishing, boating and 4-wheeling. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He married Carrie Raye Capling in Owosso on May 17, 2003.

Doug was employed with Frontier Communications as a Sr. Construction Tech.

He is survived by his wife Carrie; his daughter Riane Ostipow; his parents; grandchildren Preston Lee, Jozlyn Marie and Hailyn Rae Ostipow; sisters Sherri Chavora and Julie (Jeff) Forman; nieces Elissa and Kayleen; and many other loving family members and friends.

Doug was predeceased by his grandparents and grandson Jaron.
