Obituary for Earshel Jefferson Goad

Age 80 of Owosso passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Strawser officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Tree Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Earshel was born December 10, 1936 in Pulaski, Virginia; the son of Henry and Lillie (McPeak) Goad.  He proudly served his country in the US Army.  Earshel spent his days working for US Brick and retired from there after 31 years.  He loved the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed watching the games on TV.  Earshel also enjoyed woodworking building bird houses and tinkering with cars.

Earshel is survived by his children Rena (Charles) Long, Jeffrey Goad and Geni Goad; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Betty Lou (Sue) Thomas, Mary Eileen Nacovsky, Virginia (Jenny) Thomas and Audrey Faye Peters; special friends Jesse Coppersmith and Elizabeth Kay Goad; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, George Goad, Harold Goad, Elmer Goad, Ken Goad, baby Frankie and his sister Mildred (Goad) Cook.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Memorial Healthcare Hospice.
