Obituary for Eleanor Wilson

ELEANOR (PORTER) WILSON              

Eleanor Wilson, age 95, slipped peacefully into heaven after a long battle with Alzheimer's.  She had been a resident of the Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility for almost six years.   

Services will be held Saturday, November 11th, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor John Walworth officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.      

Eleanor was born June 21, 1922 in Sandusky, Michigan, the daughter of Floyd and Edith (Carr) Porter.  Eleanor was married to Lavern (Bert) Hall and had two daughters, Kathleen and Shelia.  She then married Theodore (Ted) Wilson, May 24, 1959, he predeceased her October 2, 2007.           

 Eleanor attended Owosso High School and was a member of the Owosso Eagles Club.  She retired from Universal Electric Company after forty-four years of service.  Eleanor and Ted enjoyed traveling, spending over fourteen years wintering in Arizona and summers at Benzonia.  She love her pets, doing plastic craft, playing cards and going to the casino.     

Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Kathleen(Hall) Washburn and Shelia (Hall) Steinke, grandchildren Connie (Freshour) Jerome, Donald Freshour, Steven Goward, Stacey Goward, Heather (Bill) Brooks, Hans (Tamara) Steinke, great grandchildren, Cheyenne Brooks, Allison and Mitchell Goward, Cadence Polczynski, Preston and Arianna Steinke, and sister, Doris Tozer, and many nieces and nephews.       

She was predeceased by her husband Ted, sisters, Laura, Joan, and Marion.  Son-in-laws, Russell Steinke and Richard Washburn, brother-in-law, Harold “Lefty”Tozer.           

Eleanor’s family wishes to thank the Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility and their staff for their kind and loving care during these difficult years, your constant support was always appreciated, also to Memorial Healthcare Hospice.                 

In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to the Shiawassee Humane Society.
