Obituary for Ernest Robert "Bob" Bartz Jr.

Ernest Robert "Bob" Bartz Jr.

Age 78 of Owosso (Houghton Lake) passed away peacefully Sunday, September 3, 2017 with family at his side.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10am Friday, September 8, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Michael O'Brien officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Thursday from 2pm to 8pm with a rosary prayed at 7pm. 

Bob was born April 1, 1939, the son of Ernest Robert and Marie Josephine  (Buehler) Bartz Sr.

He was a 1957 graduate of Owosso High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at Houghton Lake.

Bob was owner and operator of Bartz Pools and Excavating.

He married Suzanne Malik in December 1978.

He is survived by his children Jeffrey (Suzanne) Bartz, Laura (John) Ealy, Robert Bartz and Michael Bartz; grandchildren Brian (Joanna), Nathan, Amy, Zachary and Lesley; great-grandchildren Ezra and Theodore, sister Donna (Joe) Zamora; several nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Bob was predeceased by his wife.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society or American Heart Association.
