Obituary for Frederick Guy Brooks

Age 67 of Owosso passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Memorial Healthcare.

Funeral Services will be held 11am Monday, July 24, 2017 at First Church of Christ with Ron Wilson officiating.  The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes, Owosso Chapel on Sunday July 23rd from  4 to 8pm.

Frederick was born September 8, 1949 in Bay City, the son of William and Nina (Lickfeldt) Brooks. He graduated from Owosso High School; Class of 1968. He married Lindy (Hoenshell) Brooks in Owosso on August 23, 1969.

Frederick was an active member of the First Church of Christ.  He was a deacon, member of Primetimers, and Thursday morning bible study group. Frederick worked as a machinist at various Owosso factories before becoming a custodian at Owosso Public Schools for several years.  He continued his career as a technician for Charter Communications.  After retirement, he worked in maintenance for Young Cheverlot-Cadillac since 2011.

Frederick is survived by his wife Lindy; children Stephen (Dena) Brooks; Paul (Amy) Brooks and Andrew (Heather) Brooks; grandchildren Derrick, Dylan, Danika Mya, Alec, Avery, Hayden, Max and Cooper; brother William (Mona) Brooks; sister Elaine (Jim) Firlan; sister-in-law Marilyn Brooks; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother James Brooks.
