Mary H. Fizzell

Age 94 of Owosso passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Oliver Woods Assisted Living.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10am Friday, February 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Dieudonne Ntakarutimana officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Elsie. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes-Owosso Chapel on Thursday from 2pm to 8pm with a rosary prayed at 7pm.

Mary was born March 27, 1923 in Ashley, the daughter of Joseph and Ann (Homola) Palus.

She attended St. Paul Catholic School and Owosso Business School.

Mary enjoyed gardening, baking and china painting.

She married Keith E. Fizzell at St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Bannister on November 21, 1942; he predeceased her September 21, 1989.

Mary was a homemaker and spent her life raising and caring for her family as well as working on the family farm.

Mary is survived by her sons Richard (MaryAnn) Fizzell, Phillip (Mary) Fizzell and Kelvin (Sally) Fizzell; daugher Michele (James) Yeo; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Keith, parents and brother Louis Palus.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Shiawassee County Humane Society.
