Obituary for Maxine Mandel

Maxine Mandel

Age 79 of Durand passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 11am Monday February 6, 2017 at Gilead Baptist Church with Reggie Adkins officiating. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at a later time. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10am until the time of service.

Maxine was born November 22, 1937 in Corunna, the daughter of Roland and Hilda (Habermehl) Furry.

She was a member of Gilead Baptist Church and married Edwin Mandel; he predeceased her on December 6, 2010.

Maxine enjoyed gardening, crafts such as sewing and scrap booking, enjoyed animals like dogs, rabbits, goats, horses and mini horses but most of all time spent with her grandchildren.

She was employed through the years at Mitchell Corporation and Universal Electric.

Maxine is survived by her children Edwin Mandel, Susan Krause, Wayne (Mary) Mandel, Laurie (Jim) Hardwick and Vicky Mandel; 9 grandchildren Chad Mandel, Kristy Mandel, Jamie (Marv) Sulen, Tony (Catrina) Krause, George Ostrander, Tom Green, Ashley (Emett) Alman, Tabitha Hardwick and Heidi Hardwick. 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Jenetta Ewing and Pat Laird; several nieces and nephews and many loving family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Edwin C. Mandel, grandson Jeremy Mandel and her parents.
