Mildred "Mickie" Lieberman

Age 93, of Owosso, daughter of Mel and Maude Quamme passed away peacefully Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Shiawassee Hospice House.

A private service with family only will take place on a later date. 

Mickie was born July 24, 1924 in Center Line, MI and moved to Owosso with her parents in 1938 who relocated for A.G. Redmond Company. She graduated from Owosso High School in 1942 and attended Owosso Business College 1942-1943. Following her schooling, Mickie worked as a secretary for Mark and Basso, attorneys, Dr. J. Lyons, Dr. R. Feetham, and Quamme Business Service.

On August 5, 1966, Mickie married Albert Lieberman in Owosso where they lived until retiring to their cherished summer home in Frankfort, MI in 1991.

Throughout her life, Mickie was an avid golfer. She belonged to the Owosso Country Club and Frankfort Golf Club. When not golfing, Mickie devoted her time volunteering at the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Frankfort Hospital. Mickie also dabbled in art, using Lake Michigan stones and driftwood as her favorite medium. She was aproud member of Shiawassee Arts Council.

Survived by husband Albert, daughter Laura Tomich of Tuscon, Arizona, sons Randy Gideon (Mary Deur) of Frankfort, MI, Jeff (Janet) Gideon of West Yellowstone, Montana, daughter Samantha Lieberman (Jim) Stechschulte of Owosso, and stepson Jim Lieberman of Naples, Florida. Grandchildren Amanda (Quinton) Pilger of Fort Collins, CO. Maia (Kevin) Elmore of Fort Collins, CO, Alexa Stechschulte of Owosso and Samuel Stechschulte of Owosso. Great Grand Children Sophia Elmore, Jake Elmore, and Maycee Pilger.

The family would like to thank her caregivers Kim, Laura Lee, Stephanie, and Susan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gideon, a WWII veteran and beloved husband of their three children. She was also preceded by her parents, grandparents, sister Helen Williams, sister-in-law Ann Lieberman and brother-in-law Marty Lieberman.

Memorials are suggested to Shiawassee Hospice House, Shiawassee Arts Center, or Shiawassee Humane Society.
