Philip Michael Pitt

Age 60 of Owosso, passed away Monday June 12, 2017 at his home after a long and courageous battle against cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Friday June 16, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael O'Brien officiating. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Thursday June 15 from 2pm to 8pm with a rosary being prayed at 7pm.

Philip was born May 23, 1957 in Owosso, the son of Fred and Gloria Jean (Harbaugh) Pitt.

He attended Owosso High School; Class of 1975 and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the YMCA, where he enjoyed working out prior to his cancer diagnosis.

Phil married Clara Jean Hamlin at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owosso on October 25, 1980.

He loved spending time with his beloved family and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Phil also enjoyed playing baseball and coaching the Owosso 10u Baseball Club. He spent his days working as a journeyman toolmaker and machinist. He was also a member of the U.A.W.

Phil is survived by his wife Clara; his daughters Tarah (Rick) Rakoski and Ashlee (Jeff) Wendling; grandchildren Quintin Philip Rakoski and Baby Girl Wendling expected August 2017; sisters Marsha (Bill) Fairfield, Connie (Barry) Simon and Lori (Tim) Rudd; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents.
