Stanley Szczerbaty

 Age 72 of Owosso passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 5pm Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Rhine officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3pm until the time of service.

Stanley was born July 13, 1945 in Detroit, the son of John and Julia Verna (Yelonek) Szczerbaty.

He graduated from St. Andrew High in Detroit, class of 1963 and was a member of the Detroit Knights of Columbus.

Stanley was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and NASCAR. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He looked forward to time with his family; especially his grandchildren. 

He married Carol Lee Bruce in Detroit in January 1963.

Stanley retired from Regal Plastics in Owosso.

He is survived by his wife Carol; children Patricia (Sean) Price, Debora (David) Truskowski, and Pamela Szczerbaty;  seven grandchildren Nicholas Szczerbaty, Sarah Szczerbaty, Jessica Szczerbaty, Morgan Garza, Alex Truskowski and Jason Truskowski; four great-grandchildren; sister Maryann (John)Waniolek; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Stanley was predeceased by his daughter Sandra Szczerbaty and brother Frank Szczerbaty.
