Obituary for Bernice Bellenbaum

Age 95 of Chesaning passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Ashley Care Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel. Burial will follow at Brant Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 10 from 4:00 - 8:00pm. 

Bernice was born on October 21, 1923 to Maurice and Dorothy (Vincent) Griffus in Brady Township, Michigan. She married William R. Bellenbaum on June 10, 1944; they celebrated 55 years of marriage before he predeceased her in 1999.

Bernice worked at Universal Electric for many years before retiring. During her life, she always had a garden, and she really enjoyed taking care of it. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bernice is survived by her children Connie Bellenbaum, Emil Bellenbaum, and William Bellenbaum; her 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Ida Robinson and Della Scholtz.

She is predeceased by her husband, William, and her daughter, Angie Harris.
