Obituary for Mary Ann Clarambeau

On April 5th 2019 Mary Ann (Blakeslee) Clarambeau passed from this life to her glorious heavenly home. She was a tender loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel. The family will receive friends that day from 12:00pm until the service.

Mary Ann was born to Ray and Theresa Blakeslee in Oakley Michigan on December 30th 1934. After helping her parents on the family farm, Mary Ann moved to Flint when she was just 18 where she met her husband, Virgil Clarambeau. Together they had five children and Mary Ann was a full time homemaker before earning her nursing license (LPN) in 1977.

Throughout her life, Mary Ann was blessed with the gift of creativity. She created beautiful crafts; snowmen, angels, dolls, and more. She also owned Mary Ann's Country Gifts store in Chesaning for a short time. She was an excellent seamstress, gardener, and cake decorator, creating beauty and bringing joy to others through these talents. Mary Ann was also a wonderful pianist, though she never had a lesson, she created beautiful songs of praise and enjoyment at church, as the organist, or whenever she touched the keys of a piano.Mary Ann's calling was as a nurse and caretaker. She cared for many patients in hospital settings and in home health care. She served her patients with great compassion and caring by means of her training and her servant's heart. She would long term care for both her late husband and her mother in their final years.

To those who knew her, Mary Ann was a loving, caring and remarkable person. Her strength in times of difficulty came from her faith and trust in God. She leaves behind a legacy of courage, resilience and selflessness. She will be remembered as one who loved well and brought life and beauty to those around her.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Theresa Blakeslee of Oakley; her sisters, Brenda Wagner and Judy Lepeak; and her brothers Sonny and Billy Blakeslee. She is survived by her three sons, Adlore Clarambeau of West Palm Beach, Florida, Wayne (Lorena) Clarambeau of AuGres, Michigan and Kevin Clarambeau of Flushing Michigan; two daughters, Theresa O'John of Ocala, Florida and Leigh (Fred) Gately of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Steven (Kayla) O'John of Ocala Florida, Angela O'John of Ocala, Florida, Sean Gately of Murfreesboro Tennessee, Loren Gately in the US Military, and Allison Clarambeau of Flushing Michigan; sisters, Lorraine Rosencrans of Chesaning, Maxine Blakeslee of Flint, and Connie (Kiko) Perez of Chesaning; and brothes, Byron "Butch" Blakeslee of Oakley; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
