Obituary for Mary Diana Stamper

Mary Diana (Ehrke) Stamper, age 79, passed away at Hospice House of Owosso, Saturday, May 11, 2019. Mary chose cremation.

There will be a memorial service planned within the next 3 or 4 weeks to be held at Community Evangelical Presbyterian Church where Mary was a member. Pastor Jason Steele will be officiating.

Mary was born on April 12, 1940 to Alfred Harvey and Neva (Fries) Ehrke in Centerline, Michigan.  She attended schools in both Owosso and Centerline, and graduated from Centerline High School in 1958.

On January 24th, 1963, she married Ralph Stamper. They had three children.

Mary worked in retail as a cashier before retiring.She enjoyed crochet, knitting and embroidery work and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her daughters Deborah (John) Lauro and Diane (William) Moore, her grandchildren, Jeremy Stamper, David Stamper, Kathryn Lauro, Amanda Stamper, and Ralph Stamper, III, as well as several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Donald Ehrke, Thomas (Liane) Ehrke, and Robert (Debby) Ehrke and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her ex-husband Ralph Stamper, her son Ralph Stamper, Jr., her brothers John Ehrke and Charles Ehrke as well as her sisters-in-laws, Lillian Ehrke, Myra Ehrke, Nancy Ehrke, and Caroline Ehrke.

Memorial contributions can be given to Hospice House of Owosso or to Community EPC designated for the mission’s fund.
