John “Jack” Bakos

Age 77 of Owosso passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10am Friday, August 31st at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Michael O'Brien officiating. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes, Owosso Chapel on Thursday August 30th from 5pm to 8pm with rosary at 7pm.

Jack was born January 1941, the son of John and Irene (Polash) Bakos.

He graduated from St. Paul Catholic School, class of 1958 and proudly served in the United States Army.

Jack was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing and football.

He married Alice (Luchenbill) Bakos in Mt. Morris in April of 1964; she predeceased him in April 2004.

Jack was a long-time employee of Midland Ross and worked at Michigan Liquor Control.

He is survived by his sons Bernard (Amie), Kevin (Christina) and Brian; 2 grandchildren Samuel and Aiden; brothers Donald, Alan, Steve, Bob and sister Renee.

Jack was predeceased by his wife Alice, parents, brother Dennis and uncle and long-time golfing partner Steve Polash.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul Catholic Church.
